Remember all of the things you learned last year in the
technology center.
Microsoft Word
Always remember to look at the top of your screen. If you can remember
what the icons (pictures) stand for, you can usually figure out how
to do something. For instance, look for the name of the font (usually
Times New Roman). Click on the "down" arrow to select another
font. You can do the same thing to the size of the font. See if you can
remember what the B, I and U represent. Don't forget to select (highlight)
the text you want to change and then select the font, size, etc. You can
also click on Format in the Menu Bar at the top of the screen, then on
Font. In the dialog box, you can select the size and the type of Font you
want. Be sure to look at the Preview box to see what your Font will look
like. Click on
the following for tips you have learned in class.
Microsoft Power Point
If you have Microsoft Power Point at home, try
making your own slide show. Don't forget to add transitions and text
effects. Experiment with other features of the program. An excellent
site to visit for help on Power Point is Power
Point for the Classroom. You can find out more about transitions and
animation effects as well as inserting clip art, photographs, and sound.
If you need help understanding the information, ask your parent or see me
at school. You can also email me at stonecipherp@clintonschools.org

Keyboarding
Please practice on using the home row. You don't need
to have a keyboarding program to practice. Remember to use the fingers
that are "assigned" to the letters. Please don't use the hunt
and peck method. Try to use the touch typing method. If your parents
are interested in Ultra Key software click here
to download a trial version of the program. Be sure to have permission
from your parents!
