1)    Basic Rules

ü      Follow all school rules.

ü      Follow teacher’s directions, 1st time given.

2)    Take Care of the Equipment

ü      Don’t bang on the keyboard.

ü      Use the button to open and close the CD-Rom drive.

ü      Don’t pull the wires on the headphones.

ü      Handle CD-ROMs with care.

3) Before You Enter the Lab

ü      Make sure your hands are clean.

ü      Leave candy (suckers included), food, snacks, and drinks outside.

4) While You are Working

ü      Sit at your assigned computer.

ü      Use correct posture and both hands to type.

ü      Keep your hands on your own mouse, keyboard, and screen.

ü      Finish all assignments BEFORE you have  choice time.

5) When Using the Internet

ü      Visit only approved websites.

ü      NO emails or chatting.

ü      Ask the teacher before downloading anything from a website.

ü      If you see anything inappropriate:

Ø     Turn off your monitor.

Ø     Tell the teacher.

Ø     Don’t show your friends.

6) If You Have an Emergency

ü      Tell the teacher you need to leave the room, then go.

ü      If you feel sick, go to the trashcan or the restroom.

ü      If you sneeze or cough, get a tissue off the counter,  then use the hand sanitizer.

7) Before You Leave the Lab

ü      Put your headphones on top of the monitor.

ü      Log out.

ü      Put all CDs into their cases and back in the baskets.

ü      Return any materials to where you got them.

ü      Push in your chairs.

8) Rewards

ü      Good reports back to teacher.

ü      Earn extra choice time.

9) Consequences

ü      Verbal warning.

ü      Name on clipboard, and loss of computer time.

ü      #1, #2 and note to parents.

ü      #1, #2, #3 and trip to the principal.
