School - Parent Compact
Developing a Partnership to Promote Student Success

Parent/Guardian Agreement
I promise to:

1.      See that my child is punctual, attends school daily, and gets plenty of rest.

2.      Find a quiet place for schoolwork and assist with homework as needed.

3.      Monitor the amount of time and content of television programs my child watches.

4.      Volunteer in my child’s classroom and support parent/school activities as much

as possible.

5.      Attend parent/teacher conferences when requested and request conferences

with teachers to facilitate my participation in decisions relating to the education of

my child.

6.      Read with my child and let him/her see me read.

  1. Encourage a positive attitude toward school by communicating daily with my child

about school activities and praising his/her efforts. 

8.  Communicate and work with teachers to support and challenge my child.

Student Agreement
I promise to:

1.      Come to school each day with pens, pencils, paper, and other necessary materials.

2.      Do my best work and have a positive attitude toward school.

3.      Complete and return all homework assignments on time.          

4.      Follow school and classroom rules.

5.      Attend and get to school on time every day.

6.      Respect and cooperate with other students and adults.

 

Teacher/School Agreement
I promise to:

1.      Provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective

learning environment that enables students to meet the State’s student

academic achievement standards.

2.      Communicate with parents through frequent progress reports, newsletters,

phone calls, and notes.

3.      Schedule parent/teacher conferences at least annually to discuss the school-parent

 compact as it relates to the individual child’s achievement.

4.      Provide frequent student progress reports to parents.

5.      Give parents reasonable access to the staff, to volunteer, to participate,

and to observe in their child’s class.

6.      Set a good example of respect and good citizenship.

7.      Encourage parent involvement.

8.      Provide needed assistance to parents so they can help with assignments.

9.      Be sensitive to families' personal situations.

10. Provide a safe and enjoyable environment for learning.

11. Show enthusiasm for subjects taught.

12. Plan activities in the classroom to make learning enjoyable and challenging.
