Lessons

Sarah Hendry will continue her internship as a guidance counselor during the fall of 2008.  She did a great job during the spring semester, 2008, and we will be pleased to welcome her back to the guidance program in the fall.

During guidance classes in November and December, kindergarten students are learning about handling emotions in an acceptable way.  First and second grade students are learning about self-esteem and individual diversity. Third and fourth grade students are learning about peer pressure and protecting oneself from unsafe substances.  During the week of November 3 - 7, each third and fourth grader will receive a red ribbon to wear to show others that he/she is dedicated to making good choices and "saying no to drugs."

Several groups of fifth and sixth grade students are meeting with Mrs. Jennings to improve their study skills and social skills.  Other areas of need will also be addressed in small groups for these grade levels.
