Parents, we would love for you to Volunteer in the
Accelerated Reading - Going for the Gold Much help is needed with labeling or re-labeling our AR books. Many reading levels and point values have changed and our books need updating. We are in the process of doing these updates now. If you can help - give me a call at 457-0616 or come on by. We can show what you can help us do. Our AR program has taken on a new life this year. Students are reading more than ever. Tags are awarded for points earned - and students can earn Bronze, Silver, and Gold medals. RIF- (Reading Is Fundamental) Parents can volunteer to help with setting up and/or packing up the books for RIF distribution. Volunteers who are crafty/creative could make bookmarks - or something else that would make our RIF days more special. We could use drinks and snacks for these days too. Students
choose a free book on 3 special days each year. The
first R.I.F day will be in December, the second will be in
March, the third in May. Reading Is Fundamental is a
federal grant program supplemented by local funds from our
Parent Teacher Organization, our school book fair, and the Clinton Education
Association. We are constantly adding new books and materials to our library collection. Help with cataloging and processing these new items is always needed. If you are interested in volunteering to help with any of these needs - please call or email me. Thanks! So Little Time - So Much To Do !
