Tips for Parents

When you read to your children, they will want to read, too.  Catch your breath and listen.

Boys are less likely to read than girls because their fathers do not read to them.  Take turns.

Reading or listening to a story together is time to be together.  Do it every day.

If you don’t like to read books for children, read anything so long as it is aloud.  Play the part!

Provide things to read in every room of your house, in the car, at the grocery store, at the doctor or dentist’s office, at the relatives’ homes…Every where your child is sitting still for a few moments.

Please come in to the library and borrow a few books that you want to read aloud.  I’ll be waiting for you.
